About Us

Last updated 22 Aug 2026

This site exists because most calculator websites give you a number and nothing else. You type in some figures, get a result, and have no way to tell whether it is right.

Every calculator here does three things instead of one. It computes the answer, it shows the formula and the intermediate steps that produced it, and it explains in plain language what the result means and where it stops being reliable.

How we build these tools

Each calculator uses a published, verifiable formula — the standard annuity equation for loan repayments, Mifflin-St Jeor for metabolic rate, the WHO categories for BMI. Where a method has known limitations, we say so on the page rather than burying it.

We do not invent statistics, and we do not cite sources we have not read. Where a calculation depends on an assumption you have supplied, such as an expected investment return, the page says clearly that the output is a projection rather than a forecast.

What these tools are not

They are general information. A BMI figure is not a diagnosis, a calorie target is not a meal plan, and a loan projection is not financial advice. For decisions that matter, speak to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Corrections

If you find an error in a calculation or an explanation, please tell us. We would rather fix it than defend it.
